Changing accessory belt while the engine is running

Hi Scotty-

I got into an argument in a mechanic meme group about this video:

https://www.facebook.com/streetfx/videos/856164631982276

This person says mechanics change belts like this, with the engine running, all the time and that it's a good procedure to have in your shop. Further, if you don;t use this method, or son't think it's a good way to change the accessory belt, your not a mechani.

Can you tell me/us how true this is?

Thanks

Pete

Next up: changing a tire while driving 70 mph on the freeway.

I'm sure there's a way. Just need enough counterweight

Uhm... Please don't try that.

How many fingers does this guy have left?  This looks like the old fast and dirty way to do the job and over stretch the belt in the process, as well as get a visit from OSHA.
