I was just wonder what do you think of the old Chevy s-10’s. I’m short on money and need a truck on the cheaper side. I would rather have a ford ranger, but a lot of people in my area (Michigan) are asking quite a bit for rangers now.
The newest one is almost 20 years old now. I wouldn't buy it because it would be a money pit.

You really don't think you can get by with a Corolla?
They’re plentiful, inexpensive, easy to work on, and parts are cheap. They’re also old, so they’ll need a lot of care and feeding. But if you are good with a wrench and don’t want to put on a lot of miles, they can be ok.
But Michigan isn’t the place to fine one. See if you can get yourself a southern truck. (FYI, Derek at Vice Grip Garage did an episode where he found an old square body S10, got it running, and drove it home. Take a look on YouTube. That will give you an idea what you are getting into.)
