I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado WT, automatic 2 wheel drive, with 167,000 miles on it and recently I started having issues with the brakes where when applied hard the right front wheel would start to shimmy badly and after a long drive the left front brake would bite hard making a groaning sound right when you come to a stop and then when you start up again. There also is a smell afterwards that later dissipates, there are no warning lights coming up on the dash and the fluid reservoir is full. I have looked at the brakes and don't know where the issue lays.

I would look closely at the wheel bearings and races.
