Chevy Colorado reduce power then dies while driving or paked

Ok I got a doozy I think….. I got a 2006 Chevy Colorado. First on right side the 4 wheel drive wentout and the axle and other parts messed up. I’m a female give me a lil break I don’t know the name of everything that needed replaced so of course I’m not a mechanic so I asked a friend who is a mechanic to look at it. He said it needed a transmission and gave a ridiculous price to fix. Something told me NOOOOO DONT DO IT!!! It would start but not go in gear but something told me it wasn’t the transmission cause when the original part broke it drive  but then one day I started it and tried to put it in gear and it wouldn’t go so I got a 2nd option. We don’t hava lot of money so I got hold of another friend and he came and looked at it. Well we’ll it wasn’t the transmission. It was stuck in neutral he reset it by pulling the crank sensor I believe is what it was called he pulled it out for about 30 minutes I don’t know if that’s what it’s called but I think that’s what it was anyway he pulled that out reset it so he manually put it in 2 Wheel Dr. and he pulled the axle out. He pulled it right out without no tools that was bad but anyway I know it needs a new axle now but now I can drive it to the store at least but now when it dies all the sudden it’ll say “REDUCED POWER “ and it just dies I can be going 40 miles an hour or be doing 2 miles an hour or I could be doing no miles an hour it just says reduced power and dies. Here’s the weird thing,  once it cools down a little bit it’ll start back up if I try to restart it immediately it doesn’t ever start up if I let it sit for 10 minutes it starts on a very hot day I live in Mississippi when it gets real hot last week it won’t start for 30 or 40 minutes. Now that’s it’s cooled down in just this past week I can drive it in the mornings but inevitably when it gets  hot it does that reduced power thing. Oh side note when it dies and I’m trying to start it a lot of time the fuel pump ain’t kicking in. I mean when I turn the key I get nothing on the dash it seems dead and the fuel pump ain’t starting either. After it sits a few turn the key fuel pump, kicks in and it starts. Now mind ya just cause it starts it takes forever to get anywhere cause as long as it’s hot it just keeps dying. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT IS?!? Is it electronica??

Is the check engine light on? You could check the electronics but I would look at the throttle position sensor (TPS). It may have gone bad and needs to be replaced. Also check the wiring around it.

Yes check engine light is on and it’s flashing. And I thought it was electrical. I’m gonna get a multimeter or something and check it out myself. As I said or maybe I didn’t I’m a female but I’ve changed or and done small repairs on my cars in the past. My daughter is 30 and she’s changed brakes and a serpentine belt befor so I’m going to get her help and try to figure this out. We don’t have a lot of money and so far everyone I’ve looked to for help has tried to make money. But I had done some research and was pointed in the direction of the throttle body. If it is in fact the throttle body is there anything else that’s going to need changed or anything else done? And thank you so much for your input

Also on obd reader it read code 600 or maybe it was 601. Sorry I don’t have the reader anymore

You can check the throttle actuator which is within the throttle body.

If the check engine light is flashing then its probably something that needs to be fixed sooner rather than later. Is it going into limp mode? I had that same thing on a 2009 impala and it was the gas pedal sensor and was no cost because of an extended warranty at the dealership and I never go to the dealership but did call them and find out about that warranty but it was doing the same thing not starting back up right away and giving me an engine power is reduced message.
Did you get someone to hook up a scan tool and pull codes? How many miles is on it?

If the check engine light is flashing, it needs to be towed. Limp mode only activates to prevent serious damage to the vehicle.
