Hi so I have a 2017 chevy impala with 75k miles. If I drive on the highway for awhile and then go to a stop when accelerating, there is a big shift delay between gears 2 and 3, all the other gears are fine. But if I just drive around town it shifts fine. What could this be?
It depends on the delay. Scotty just dropped a video discussing the wide latitude GM built into shift delays ("Three Cars and Trucks I Refuse to Fix.") Best to get an advanced scan tool on it and see if it's within GM's wide specs (the TCM parameters, in terms of seconds).
On the other hand, there have been a number of reported problems with the 2017 Impala: Google this
"Transmission Pressure Control Solenoid Failure May Cause Erratic Shifting"
and "Impala."
This seems to be a "pattern failure" among many years of Impalas, including the 2017 model.
have you checked the fluid?
