my truck will start some times and other times it will just crank and not fire what could be the problem plz and ty

Not sure what year this is but if could be your fuel pump starting going bad. Had a friend who had a similar issue. On colder nights, he would have to put something near the pump to heat it so he could start it. Does it happen on colder days / nights and not on warmer ones? What year is the truck?
