Hi Scotty.
I have a Chrysler stratus convertible 2.5 v6 24v /99
Sebring in the states, Stratus over here (Sweden)
I change the engine this winter and it run fore about 1h, then it just died and I can not find a solution.
The car: about 185000 km
The engine: about 124000 km
I have searched manually and discovered that, the crankshaft position sensor just feeds with 3,98V, but can not find why. Have done a change with a used ECU, the status is the same. 3.98V. No error codes coming up when i search.
Do you have a idea what the problem is?
The old motor had jammed piston rings. Probably overheating, the radiator was clogged on the outside.

You may have a Hall Effect crank sensor. That type is fed a reference voltage (usually 5 volts). Here is information on testing that type of sensor:

Well here's the thing you would have to replace it with the same exact motor with all the same exact sensors and make sure that none of the wires got pinched or any of the sensors were cracked or broken. And then you mentioned you tried another computer. You can't just plug a computer in and out that has to be reprogrammed for the car. Cars are not simple like they used to be and swapping engines has become a real questionable thing at any modern car because of all the computer software and sensor issues where they might be slightly different and with the computers you have to reprogram them if you swap one to begin with
Hi again.
All the modell numbers etc on the computer was the same. I baught it from a junkyard that only have american cars. The car was runing fore about one houer and it work good that houer. Is it posible to load down softare and reinstall in that car? All hang arround gears and gadgets ar from the old motor exept the injection nozzles.
And the electric wires. I have start the change to those that was to the old engine.. why does it run flawless fore one houer and then just died? Can it help with changing back to the old cable?
