I have a 2013 Toyota camry Hybrid XLE with 94,296 miles> When I turn the steering wheel left or right i hear a clunking and sometimes clicking noise. I have checked the inner and outer tie rods, all ball joints, rack in pinion, and steering shaft has 2 12mm bolts are tight they are all good. I cannot figure out what is wrong can you help me please?
Check the joints of the sway bar LINKS. Raise one of the front wheels, put a jack stand under it so the car won't fall on you should the jack fail, grab a sway bar link and try to wiggle it. If you can move it at all, it's probably worn and needs to be replaced. Do the same with the other side. I've had to replace all 4- a pair at a time- on my '07 Lexus ES350. Interstingly, the noise worn sway bar links make is more pronounced when driving around 20 mph over smooth roads with slight ripples or bumps. They are also one of the easiest parts to replace on a Toyota car suspension because no alignment is needed and no special tools are required. If you've replaced your own brake pads, I think you could replace the sway bar links. Otherwise, have your favortie mechanic find the noise and replace the worn parts for you.
