Every time I drive faster than 60 mph, I can smell gasoline odors. Today, it triggered the check engine light with the code P0455 - Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak). I deleted and let my car idle and it didn't come back. What should I do?
@chucktobias Thanks. Should I start looking at the charcoal canister first or under the hood?
Given the age of the vehicle I would examine all hoses in addition to the charcoal canister. If the leak cannot be located visually a smoke test should find it.
@chucktobias Today I refilled the gas tank from another gas station. There are no more codes popping out and no more odors.
Must have gotten some bad gas. Keep an eye on it in case the problem comes back.
It is a 07 Ford Crown Victoria with 85k miles.
