Hi my name is Rodolfo. I have a 2004 Mazda6 2.3L automatic with 197k miles. I recently got the code PO753 for “shift solenoid “A” electrical”. My mechanic hooked up his commercial obd2 scanner and it would go in and out of communication. So I’m going to a car electrician to better diagnose. At start the AT dash light is not on but as soon as I go into reverse and/or drive there’s a hard shift and the AT light turns on. Once I’m driving car shifts normal from 1-2-3 gear. I’ve only been driving in town and my work is near by so I’m not sure if it’s going into 4th gear. Do you think it’s an electrical problem, solenoid problem, tcm problem, or just my whole transmission is done for? ANY help would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

if TCM isn't communicating then either it or the wiring are faulty

If it is the TCM and I replace it with a used one from a same model mazda6 would o need to get it reprogrammed or is it just plug-&-play?

I don't know.
