Cold Air with the Heat On

Hey Scotty,

I just replaced the blend door actuator on the driver's side of my 2015 Dodge Charger with close to 180k miles. No codes. I replaced it because when the heat is on I get cold air on the driver side vents. The passenger side is always accurate hot or cold.

For the past two fall/winters it's done this. I typically keep my vents closed when I want heat. Then out of the blue both sides would magically blow heat.

Summer time no issues with the AC running. It's just when I go from cold to hot that I run into this issue. It's really annoying. I was thinking that replacing the blend door would do the trick but it hasn't. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Thanks

Richard

Well realized that the blend doors are operated by the HVAC system and you probably have a problem in the control unit somewhere or the wiring. The only way you can accurately diagnose them is with the dealer level scan tool doing Bi-direction testing
