My 2012 Kia Sorento 2.2L diesel, makes a 1.5 second rattling noise on cold start up in the morning.
The oil is changed every 6000 km with high quality Castrol 5w40. And ryco oil filter.
What could be causing the cold start rattling?
The rattling doesnt happen anymore during the day, unless the car was sitting cold and switch off for 6 hours minimum.
Okay oftentimes it has to do with the cam system rattling on cold starter from oil not getting there. Many of those diesels will do that for years and people just drive them that way. But if it starts rattling all the time you immediately will have to get it fixed. These lenses cost a fortune to work on realize that a big reason I tell people not to buy them unless it's some kind of commercial vehicle
