My grandfather just gave me his 1998 Chevy Malibu w/ the V6 engine and 99850 miles on it. He can't remember the last time he had new brakes or anything, driving it home the day I picked it up whenever I braked it screeched super loud so I figured Id just buy a complete brake pad kit with front pads/rotors and back shoes/drums and replace everything. My question is, what is/are affordable brands that I can find on carparts or rockauto that you recommend me putting on my car? Thank you.
Scotty has always recommended Akebono brake pads but any of the leading brands of brake parts should be OK as long as you avoid their cheapest line.
I'm gonna be changing all the brakes on my 1998 Chevy Malibu that my grandfather just gave me since he's only done it once since buying it in 1998. I found this Powerstop complete kit, is this a decent kit? I was told powerstop rotors warp easy? Should I just buy this kit and install or pick and choose different brands for each part? thank you
