Hi all! So, i've been offered a fourth generation 2000 v8 4.6L engine mustang with 130,000 miles on an automatic transmission. The engine has been rebuilt. A mechanic is selling it to me and i was wondering how reliable these cars are. There is a 2000 Lincoln town car with 40,000 miles that i can purchase instead. Which one should i buy?

Thanks so much!

The Town Car will last longer. Those Panther platform sedans were real tanks.

The 4.6L V8 in the Mustang is a solid engine, but with 40k miles on it that Town Car isn't even broken in yet. I'd go that route.

Be sure to have a mechanic verify the mileage on the Lincoln Town car as well as the rest of the car before buying.

Good advice.
