I have a 04 Mitsubishi lancer with 190k and 2014 Mitsubishi outlander with 160k. Bought them new and have always used conventional oil.Since conventional oil is getting rare to get would it be safe to start using synthetic oil. Thanks in advance

I would switch to synthetic blend instead of full synthetic. Most blends have a lot of conventional oil in them still. The problem with full synthetic is some of the additives cause leaks around the rubber seals. That's why it isn't recommended for high mileage motors.

I'd do synthetic blend and keep an eye on it. You should be fine.

Only if you don’t have any current leaks.....If the car leaks oil and you introduce a thinner oil like synthetic It will leak even more.....like I said, if no leaks, you can switch to synthetic and change every 5k miles, good luck.
