Hello Scotty and the community how's everyone? I know yall are bout tired of hearing about my 2001 Honda Civic lolz but uhmm I've encountered something. This isn't everyday but happens once every 2 weeks but in the morning when I go to walk to my car I'll notice a small spot on coolant on the ground. I went to look under to see where it was coming from but I only saw a drip under where the bumper is located. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Its not everyday I encounter it and am not sure if its because of the cold weather or what but may I have a confirmation if its normal or not?
There should not be any coolant on the ground. There is an overflow/reservoir for the coolant, and it should be going into there - check the hose and the tank for leaks.
Are you sure it is coolant or just water?
Ye cause I take my finger and smell it and smells like coolant
All cars with A/C drip and make puddles. It's condensation off the evaporator core.
Dab it with a white piece of paper or towel to check the color. Smell it. Rub it between your fingers and feel for slimyness.
Cold weather coolant leaks are common. A close visual inspection will usually pinpoint the leak...even if no coolant is present, there will be dried coolant residue at the site of the leak.
You have a rubber hose, the tube (metal or plastic) that it fits over, and a clamp (metal or plastic).......all of which expand and contract differently.
Radiators, hoses, clamps, and fittings are all suspect.
A cooling system pressure test will show the leak. Of course if it only a cold weather leak, test only when cold coolant.
Hmm. I appreciate the video. I'll have to jack the front of the car up and see where
