Cracks in Control Arm Bushing

Topic starter

Second year in the row my inspection mechanic tell me that I should replace control arms due to cracks in rubber bushings.  Been driving for a year like this since last inspection and nothing really changed.  Last year he showed me same cracks.  Nothing is loose and there is no play anywhere.  I wonder how long can I drive like this or should I go ahead and replace them?  It's on 2012 Accord. If you're planning to keep the car why wait until it's a serious problem?

@chucktobias It's too costly to replace both control arms, especially when you have to pay a mechanic to do it (I'm not doing it myself). Also, this car is driven less than 5K miles a year. I guess I'll just keep an eye on the cracks and on how the car drives / handles and replace at the first sign of difference in handling / vibration, etc.
