I have a 2004 impala 3.4 the only code i have is p00443 i have crank no start . I have spark and fuel the fuel pump kicks on and is getting all the way to the fuel rail it will start for a second with starter fluid but dies just about immediately the car stalled out after being at a red light the light turned green got halfway through it and it died has not started since any suggestions. I did change the fuel pressure regulator and have cleaned my maf but not replaced.

Clarification: What is the mileage?

If it starts briefly with starting fluid you have spark but there is a fuel delivery problem. How old is your fuel filter? Is your fuel pressure up to specification?

The fuel filter Is older i did insure it was flowing through there and it looked good but doesn’t mean it is enough i also did hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and it jumps up to 45-50 with the key in the on position it does slowly start to go down slowly though which I thought was weird it would drop down to about 40-42 then holds better one thing i was struggling with was finding the specs of what it should read and what it should hold

You could use noid lights to see if the injectors are getting their firing pulses. You might find a local parts store like Autozone or Advance Auto Parts that carries the lights and will loan them out.

Ok thank you for the info and your time i will get that process going and get back with you whenever i get it done. That was one of the things i pushed to the bottom of the list just because of the location I know i need to rule that out though .

Just for a update i went ahead and changed the fuel filter its older and it was something cheap and easy to rule out. Still the same as before i have not got to the injectors quite yet but i will soon.
