I have an 04 jeep Grand CHEROKEE 4.7L and I was planning on replacing both left and right cc axle shafts.  it now i’m not sure, and you get you to 35-45mph and if there are small imperfections on the road, i can her them both clucking as if you were going over a washboard road. so i assumed that since both boots are split and have been for some time that it was the axle shaft. Now that i’ve read more i to

it, i’m not sure now. i have to get it fix soon as we are trying to move a very long distance and i need all the vehicles to make it.this jeep has another major issue but i can ask about that later, it has to do with a fan solenoid. Anyways that you for taking the time to read this and

any

hwlp would definitely be appreciated and would save my ass 🤙 mahalo

it could be a lot of things. Inspect your suspension.

Check your rear shock absorbers.  I have seen situations where the rubber bushings deteriorate allowing metal to metal contact at the top and/or bottom mounting points.
