Hi Scotty, I have a 2015 Toyota Corolla with a cvt transmission. It has 117k miles with no issues but the fluid has never been changed because the dealer insisted not to change. Should I change the fluid now and continue to change every 25-30k miles?
You see likely be fine doing the drain and refill. Check the FAQ of this forum for more information.
If you change it. Make sure you use the Toyota cvt fluid. Its expensive but I would not use any other. The last time I bought it the price was $98.00 plus tax. For a 4 liter can.
Yes, go ahead and change it (or have it changed) now. Unless your owners manual says otherwise, 25-30K is maybe a little aggressive on the interval unless you are somehow loading the transmission unusually (like towing or something). I'd probably target a 30-50K interval.
