Datsun

I wanted to start off today since I haven't been here a while. While I was about to go home, I saw a Datsun in the parking lot. So can anyone figure what Datsun model this is? Sorry, I didn't take a lot of photos and one of them is blurred. What are your guy's reaction? For some reason, the owner started the car and it sounded like it was either a V8 or the exhaust was loud in general.

Late 1960s or early 1970s Datsun 510. Just about the best economy car sold in the U.S. at the time, priced like a VW but with specs more like a BMW 1600. I used to own one.

@chucktobias I never saw a Datsun especially from the 1960s. That's something new to know

The original 510 was a great little car with the exception of rust resistance. They quickly crumbled to rust in the salt belt. The ones that remain are typically found on the left coast and have been modified for racing, since it's a fairly easy job to retrofit larger Datsun 4-cylinder engines and 5-speed transmissions as well as suspension upgrades. (The original 510 should not be confused with the lackluster version Datsun sold in the late 1970s.)

The Datsun 510, I have always wanted one, there is one I saw in Ontario, Canada for sale in blue and mint condition, but nice ones are going up in value.

Sure wish I still had mine!
