Transmission jumps between gears

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a 2011 Chevy Malibu LT from a small dealership with 150,000 miles. I noticed after a couple of days from purchase, the transmission jumps when going from 3rd to 4th gear. I contacted the dealer's owner and said his mechanic didn't notice anything wrong with the car before putting it on the lot. I have since then scheduled an appointment to get it checked out and hopefully fixed. What else should I do?

Thank you,

Landeros.

so the USA DOES have this law as well! well there you go that's one advantage to buying from a dealer.

It depends on the state, they all have different laws.

Was this noticed during the pre-purchase inspection? Do you have service history for the car? When is the last time the transmission was serviced? What does the transmission fluid look like?

Engine and transmission problems are very common with that model so given that and the high mileage you should probably be saving for major repairs.
