Scotty - I have a 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma (TRD Sport w/long bed, automatic) with 120K and just noticed what I think is a timing cover oil leak. I'm out of warranty and it's likely been seeping for a long time, but I just noticed it. Note - I haven't had to add oil in between my oil changes and there are no pools of liquid in my garage where I park the truck.
Q: Have you ever tried Devils Blue Oil Stop for a similar leak or do you recommend that I stay away from this type of product? Based on my research the repair is costly, as the engine needs to be pulled to complete the repair correctly. My goal is to put another 100K or more on the truck.
Any insight or advice would be great.
Thanks,
J

I wouldn’t do anything, for now. Just keep an eye on it over time.

It's snake oil that not only may not work it may cause other problems. If it works at all it would be temporary, it will not actually fix anything. If you intend to keep the truck long term the leak should be properly repaired.
