Hey Scotty! I just traded in my 2014 Ford Focus ST with 80k miles on it and got a 2015 Ford Mustang GT premium with 45k miles on it. I was scared about all the gremlins I’ve heard about the ST at the 100k mark (bad turbos, clutches, head gaskets etc.) and wanted to save myself the trouble, so I upgraded. Did I make a good decision and also is there anything I should be concerned about with the newer 5.0 mustangs? It’s got an MT82 and shifts fine but I already had to valve cover gaskets (warranty) and just want to make sure I might not have dig myself a money pit.
The MT-82 is what you need to keep an eye on. I'm surprised you had to do valve cover gaskets at that mileage. You should be alright with the 5.0L. They were built good until 2018, so you avoided those problems.
Thank you for the info! The MT82 in mine seems good. I don’t feel any slippage or grinding when shifting. I’ve driven it pretty hard, but I have driven manual for years so I know how to make the clutches last, but I just want to make sure I have no engine problems. Owned the car for about a month and already had to fix that large oil leak (which took 4 days at the dealership)
