Hello Scotty. I am looking to buy a 2005 scion tc but I am wondering if the 2005 models were the oil burners?

That model year have few complaints and seems do not suffer from oil burning problem. I heard only 2007 and up ones that burn oil.

Basically all models from that first generation TC had that 2AZ-FE engine that did burn a lot of oil. If you're looking to get one of those first generation TCs, have an honest mechanic check it out and if it's okay, just be as religious as possible when changing the oil with what's recommended for the engine that's fully synthetic.
