Good afternoon,
I drained and filled my front and rear differential fluids for the first time. After I was done I noticed I didn’t put in as much fluid as according to service manual capacity. Is this normal. I think I was off by almost half a quart altogether. Truck was level and stopped fill when fluid started coming out of fill hole. Is this normal?
2017 Colorado LT 4x4 bought new.
Thanks!

It’s normal. As you describe is how you do the change. Once it overflows, it’s at the bottom of a fill opening. That’s a correct level!
