Hey Scotty! What do you think about Direct injection technology! Almost every manufacturer nowadays is using this technology and i m terrified reading about the problems ppl are facing from this technology! What someone can do avoiding carbon build up even changing oil every 1000 miles can not solve this problem. What do u think about all this? I want actuall to replace my old Rav but i dont trust this new technology.
They usually do not last as the old fashion fuel injection ones. That’s for sure. But between different companies, a Toyota seems to be the best for this technology.
Failure prone due to high injection pressures.
The efficiency benefits are easily argued and outweighed by the beneficial side effect port injection gives you, cleaning valves. Keeping a clean airway is paramount if you want long term low maintenance performance AND efficiency.
However, I'm sure the tech will evolve.
They're not all JUST direct injected.
The Rav4 has multiple injectors, including one in the port before the valve. This helps immensely with carbon buildup.

Re RAV 4, … fuel injection: The engine in RAV 4 is designated as A25A. It has a combined fuel injection - in the combustion chambers (direct) and in the intake ports (multipoint). This system is named D-4S. Each high-pressure fuel nozzle for direct injection has six holes and spray fuel at mid and high engine loads. The low-pressure nozzles in ports have 10 holes. The multipoint fuel injection operates at low speeds and at mid-range together with direct injection. The fuel pressure in the system is a range of 2.4-20 MPa, … fwiw
