Carter AFB and Edelbrock model carburetors use a accelerator pump discharge needle under the nozzle assembly to prevent siphoning fuel from the accelerator pump circuit while the engine is running.
I should have mentioned that if the carburetor is a ThermoQuad, TQ, the same is true, a brass needle check weight.
