Hey Scotty, How are you doing today? I hope you are doing well. I was wondering if you could please give me some insight on a problem I'm having with my truck. I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota SXT Automatic V6. When I'm driving it at any speed the truck has these constant hesitations while driving, but when I step on the gas and it shifts into high gear it barely has any hesitations at all. I just can't figure it out. I don't know if it's because the fuel filter is clogged, if it's the injectors not distributing the fuel right, if it's the fuel pump going bad, or something else. Also I'll give you a little history about the truck. I recently had the spark plugs, cap and rotor, air filter, brakes and break pads replaced by a repair shop. I still need to have the plugs replaced and will be doing this soon. Also I found out that the previous owner had been overfilling the gas tank every time they got gas so I'm not sure if the problem stems from that and if it does what do I need to fix. After I found that out, I made the mistake of using a SeaFoam gas additive, then I saw one of your videos saying not to use SeaFoam so I bought the ATS505 that you recommended and used that afterwards. I'm just at my wits end at this point and don't know what could be causing this hesitation issue. Any feedback you can offer me will be greatly appreciated. If you don't know whether it's the fuel filter or pump, why not change the filter if it has not been done in a long time (20 years?) and test fuel pressure?
What mileage? When were the spark plugs last replaced? When was the trans fluid and filter replaced, MAF cleaned, air filter, etc.? Have it scanned for codes and see what comes up.
