Big Bad Scotty , Davie boy here , I just watched a video from 10 months ago saying dont use cheap dongles in the scan port in the car , and especially dont leave them plugged in when driving around . Note taken , but how about dongles when used to power something such as a dash cam which requires constant power ? Will that cause problems with the main computer ? Thanks you crazy animal !

Not if it's plugged into a USB port.  Why are you plugged into the OBD port just to power an accessory?  If you don't have a USB, get a cigarette lighter adapter.

IF all it is doing is drawing power it shouldn't hurt your car's electronics, but it might drain your battery if parked for a while.
