Drivetrain error BMW

Hello,

I have a BMW x3 f25 diesel20d from 2017 it has 145k km

this year in February there was a bmw recall for EGR, and it was replaced.

about two months later I’ve started getting an issue that showed drivetrain error, when I went to a mechanic they said it was the error 28f300 and 28f400 which is related to clutch.

but, I don’t feel any difference in terms of power, any noise, or smell.

I wonder if this is somehow related to EGR? And if perhaps it is related to battery I’ve checked the battery early in the morning after the car has sat overnight and it showed me 11.9/12 v and then when I started the car it showed 14.9/15v

Battery hasn’t been changed ever.

Can this be related to either EGR? Battery or this is directly related to the error the computer is reading? And means I have to change the clutch?

on another note, I miss my Honda CRV and considering getting Toyota rav4 plug in hybrid after this BMW.

Thanks in advance!

At least your alternator appears to be working, but at that rest voltage (11.9 to 12.0 volts) your battery is only at about 50%. Better have it load tested. A weak battery can wreak havoc with vehicle electronics.

After 8 or 9 years probably is time for a new one.

Personally, I'd get the Toyota sooner than later. BMWs are endless money pits and yeah you might need a new clutch but those things are so complex. It's almost impossible to figure out what's wrong with them unless you go to a really high-tech BMW mechanic who's going to charge you a fortune just to open the hood
