Last week saw a van I was interested in online. Drove down to a used car lot in a shady part of Wilmington Delaware. Sales guy shows me the van. A inch of pollen on was on the van, dead key fob, dead battery, couldn't get the side door open either. Then the sales guy let me know a lot of their cars have dead batteries. The reason, at night homeless come to the lot and sleep in their cars, which kills the batteries.
Now I don't know if the sales guy didn't want to deal with me or was being honest. Either way I passed...
Have fun out there!

avoid used car lots and buy from private owners
