Electric car fees! NJ.  When renewing registration; paraphrased quote: Effective 7/1/24  zero emission vehicles ZEVs have annual extra registration fee of $250.00 and $10 added each year. Battery cars suck. Your  thoughts?

If you add the fact that electric cars depreciate about 50% in just after 1 year, it's not smart to buy one (not yet).  More and more OEM's are now realizing that they made a huge mistake with electric vehicles and are going back to ICE and hybrid.  Toyota has an upper hand by sticking to hybrids and not jumping on "electric only" bandwagon.

So far electric car owners have been skating free in terms of paying for road construction and maintenance. Obviously as more people are tricked into buying the stupid things that has to change and the taxes normally paid with gasoline or diesel need to be assessed.

Additionally, for future reference please use the subject line for a short description of your post, not the full details of your car question. Thank you. (Title edited.)
