Scotty,

I used to own 2010 W221 S550 and is was endless money pit. I now own 2016 W222 45,000 miles and so far awesome. I drive normally no racing around. How long can I expect the turbos on this to last will regular oil changes?

Thanks

Ernie

Clarification: That is a 6th generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Any warranty left on it?

If you are out of warranty (you didn’t say) and assuming that is a daily driver (you also didn’t say), and since that is a 2016 Mercedes Benz S-class with even more tech than the previous generations - I would probably look to sell it.  This has the potential to be even more of a money pit than your previous S-class.

Regular oil changes (5000 miles max) will go a long way.  Let the car idle for a few minutes before turning it off to let the turbo cool down so it doesn't cook the oil.

If you have no issues on it right now then you're good. I hope that you didn't pay too much for this vehicle and I also hope that you only use this vehicle on the weekends because when they break-especially the turbos, the cost of that will be a small fortune. The electronics on that vehicle-forget it because it will be way worse.
