Hi, I have a 2021 Rav4 Prime. It has 94000 miles on it. Toyota recommends that I replace the coolant at 100,000 miles. I was wondering if that is necessary? Thanks, David

Check your car owner's manual.

- Wow you must be doing a lot of driving.
- If you want to you can watch a YouTube video and change it yourself it should not be that expensive and you just have to buy coolant
- If you don't feel like doing a coolant change I personally would just look at the coolant and see what state it's in
- Usually it takes people about 10 years to put 100,000 miles on a vehicle so you may have some time before you have to change it
- Just remember that coolant is a lot cheaper than water pumps and radiators

You should because coolant degrades over time and with your driving. Bad coolant turns into acid which will corrode metal parts and you’ll have bigger problems. A coolant change isn’t going to be more expensive than the smallest problem you may face if you don’t change it.
