Engine oil is very dirty

2012 Nissan Sentra sl we have been keeping all the maintenance so we will drive it until the wheels fall off.

However, I have noticing that the oil is very dirty after 3k miles, even when user higher synthetic oil.

Do you think doing an engine flush with an additive is going to help?

Engine oil will normally get dirty after a relatively short time. The detergents in it are designed to hold contaminants in suspension.

Since the car is a decade old it probably does have some carbon buildup internally. Scotty recommends the ATS carbon clean products but reports are that they are currently out of stock everywhere.

Then the detergents in the oil are doing their job. It sounds like your oil is already doing a great job of cleaning. Leave the snake oils alone and continue to maintain regularly.

Thank you

I should have mentioned it gets as dirty worse than our other car with 5k on the same type of oil.

I noticed that after 3k it starts consuming about almost a quart of oil every 1k

I don't know what's is happening, let me know if you have any thoughts

Thanks
