Hello,
I recently purchased a 2016 Ford Taurus SEL with 50,000 miles, 3.5L Duratec Engine, Automatic 6 speed transmission.
After driving the car for about 5,000 miles I can now hear a consistent knocking sound coming from the upper air intake area. There is no engine lights on and I have not run a scan on the car. The car has had regular oil changes, but that is all the maintenance history that I have. I'm about to the change the coolant and spark plugs I'm hoping that helps. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks
If possible please record a video demonstrating the sound, upload to youtube or file sharing site, and post the link here.
I'm not saying this is your noise, But those engines have internal water pumps driven by a timing chain and are prone to failure resulting in catastrophic engine damage. There is a ton of information about the issue if you ask google. I just wanted to make sure you are aware. Good luck.

How recent was the vehicle purchased? If it was from a dealer do you have any warranty so they can fix it? Like another person said a clear video would help to possibly diagnose
