What are your thoughts on Mobil 1 oil versus Costco Kirkland oil?

both good oils. Use the cheaper one as long as it meets the requirements in your owners manual

If it has the API certification on the bottle, and GF-6 either A or B on it, depending on what you're using it for, it's basically all the same. They'll put differing additives in the oil based on manufacturer, but the base oil is the same. There are only a few motor oil manufacturers, Costco doesn't manufacturer the oil, some other manufacturer who specializes in oil refining manufactures the oil and Costo slaps its name on it.
