Should I switch to full synthetic engine oil?

My 1998 Honda Legend, 3.5 ,(equivalent to RL Acura in the USA), 114.00 miles runs on semi-synthetic oil and has done since I acquired the car some ten years ago when it had 44,00 miles on the clock. Are there any benefits, merits or pitfalls to switching to fully-synthetic oil...?

I change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles.

No. The main thing is to stick to the recommend viscosity and change the oil regularly.

Daum, that's religious. Good on ya. Synthetics last longer than semi synthetic oils. Not really any pitfalls to switching. As long as the viscosity and weight are the same then oil is oil IMO (opinions heavily vary on this topic) Synthetics is 5-7k miles, but yours being 114k is what I think you mean? I'd say 5k is perfectly fine. Or you know stick with your 3k if that's what you are comfortable with.

Don't waste your money on overpriced, full synthetic oils.  Straight mineral or synthetic blend is just fine.  I too change my oil and filter religiously at 3K miles, along with the PCV valve.
