Between these two types whats the diff?
Out from the bottle, the Castrol Edge oil is thicker than the Fuel saver but both are 5W-30.
Which one will be of better use for a corolla 2013? Both seems to meet the specs on the owners manual.
I am feeling the Castrol Edge is causing higher fuel consumption.
I would use the fuel saver
Thank you Scotty Sir. 🙂
May as well save money and go with the fuel saver.
No oil can destroy a piston. Pistons are destroyed by extremely lean fuel mixtures. Castrol is as good as any out there. Going "full speed" while parked is just asking to blow up your motor, I don't care what brand of oil you are using.
I dont reccomend castrol. My top options other than your original are Penzzoil second to that is shell, the rest dont work. I tested my application on my motorcycle, and I went full speed while parked, the castrol destroyed the piston while shell gave better cooling but did wear out during my test. I replaced piston to have it destroyed again on the second attempt, thicker oil takes too long to flow, with shell it wasnt as bad. I now use Penzzoil and my engine runs alot more cooler, 3 bars more cooler, than using mobile 1 or original. We still reccomend you use original type all the time, try to use only 1 and dont switch engine oils, because that can haywire your engine, those additives react differently if mixed with other oils, never mix oil. A proper engine oil change for me would be to leave the oil leak overnight, in the morning you will see HOW much more darker oil comes out, same for transmission, use original filter at all times. good luck
