How much oil should an engine consume, do modern German engines consume more oil than modern Japanese engines.
Do engines with 80,000 and less miles consume oil if they are well maintained.

Nothing, but for older cars, up to 1 quarter between oil changes should be ok.

New engines should not consume oil. Older cars can use a quart here or there.
If you have a new motor that is using oil, get it checked out ASAP. That's what killed my 2 motors in my 2018 F150 5.0L.
