I have a 2005 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L. I drove home on lunch break a few weeks ago and the car turned off in the middle of the street. I was able to start it back up and drive to safety. But it was a very very rough drive. I had codes for 3 misfires which I replaced all spark plugs and coils. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (Replaced as well) 02 sensor (Not replaced yet) and U1900 CAN Communicator BUS Fail and C1805 Mismatched PCM or ABS. And another for Mismatched VIN.
Sharp left turns will also cause the truck to shut off. It idles very rough, doesn’t accelerate. The engine sounds fine on a cold start. But once it has ran for a little or you begin to drive it, you can hear like maybe large gushes of air maybe? But it’s like hiccups and it’s causing it to act this way. I can only safely drive it very short distances.
Check the bus, PCM and ECM for broken or damaged wires, poor connection, harness. Check your battery, any fuses or relays, low voltage can cause failure of these systems. I would start there with battery, fuses and relays since that's the easiest. Then I move on to the harness and pins . Then check the wires and and ground. If problem still isn't found you need to check those components are still good.
