im thinking of doing an engine swap for 2007 camry le 2.4 liter engine. i know some models come with the v6 engine , would it be okay to swap to the v6 engine ? Also what is the best way to go about swapping an engine with no experience? would it be okay to purchase a engine through ebay and have a mechanic change it? also what would be a fair price for a mechanic to charge for an engine swap?

You can't simply drop in new engines in this day and age and expect it to work. The PCM would need to be flashed with the new programming, even if the engine from the donor car is able to be mated to the transmission. Sometimes, the PCM itself also needs replaced.
Don't use eBay.
@justin-shepherd i see, even if its the same engine it would require a pcm replacement ?
The exact same engine from that same model year? No.
@justin-shepherd okay , appreciate the advice , thank you. just wanted to see how to go about an engine swap for this model, since its strating to burn alot of oil and i dont have the funds to buy another car.
It's not a 1965 Chevy where you can easily mix and match engines and drivetrain components.
If you want a car that doesn't burn oil the only reasonable path forward is to buy another that doesn't have the problem. (The other way would be to rebuild your engine but that would cost more than the car is worth.)

Just keep adding more as it consumes it., as annoying as it may be. Toyota had problems with that particular engine and they were subject to recalls, I think. Any recalls have probably expired now, since it's been almost 18 years since they built the car.
