Hi Scotty, my 2010 Honda Pilot 125,000 miles on it makes a ticking noise only when the engine is cold. Do I have to worry about it? The car has been taken care and serviced according to the maintenance schedule ( oil changed every 5000 km, driven conservatively ) it doesn’t burn any oil at all. Once the engine gets warm the sound disappears. What is your take on this issue? Thank you

It could be a loose exhaust manifold or a worn timing chain.
I thought if it’s a loose exhaust manifold the sound will persist and in my case there’s a timing Belt.. but thanks anyway

The loose exhaust manifold ticking sound would go away when it warms up because it would expand and seal up.
It absolutely makes sense , thank you
