Hey Scotty,
I have a 2016 equinox lt 2.4 fwd with 65000 miles and want to change the "lifetime" automatic transmission fluid but I'm not sure if I've already waited to long to do it and may cause more harm than good. No problems with the tranny now but I want to be proactive. What do you think?

Change it now and every 40-50K miles. And filter too.

From everything I've been able to find, changing the filter in this transmission requires taking alot of the transmission apart. Most if not all people just change the fluid. Any thoughts?
