Essential DIY maintenance

Hi Scotty et al,

my wife and I own two Honda Pilots, a 2020 EX-L with 6 speed transmission with 5k miles and a 2021 SE with 9 speed transmission and 1k miles.  It’s a long story how we ended up with two new vehicles at the same time, but we intend to keep these as long as possible like we tried with our last two vehicles (unsuccessfully). What is the essential DIY maintenance needed to ensure these run as long as possible?  I presume oil changes regularly, what type of oil synthetic or blend?  Transmission fluid change, how often?  Differential oil change how often?  Etc.  Is it safe to follow the maintenance schedule in the manual or should things be done more often? Thanks much, love your videos, love references to WNY.

Flying Pilots,

Hamburg, New York

Hey my aunt lived in Hamburg for ages Beverly Brown. I used to go horseback riding there in the Boston hills.now follow the schedule for maintenance and if you're curious just watch some of my videos on the Scotty kilmer channel on how to make your car last forever and follow them

Like Scotty said, follow the manual for services. As long as you do that, you do two things: keep the vehicle in top shape, and insure that any issues that may crop up under warranty will be covered.

Congratulations on the purchases.
