Scotty, I have a 2019 Toyota Camry SE with 45,000 miles. When I accelerate hard to merge with traffic I get an exhaust odor in the cabin with interior air on. As I ease up on the pedal and get down to 70 mph the odor gradually goes away. Even in city traffic if I gun it to pass someone or to get away from a bad situation I get the cabin odor. Toyota dealer says this is normal but I’ve never had a car with interior air on allow exhaust type fumes into the cabin. Matter of fact I rented a 2021 Toyota Camry SE for 2 weeks and ran it hard and never had the cabin odor. Why am I getting this in my Camry? I’ve had this odor for as long as I can remember 1st time pedal to the floor. Note: the car runs great with no odd noises and plenty of get up and go. Is this “NORMAL”?
Toyota dealer says this is normal
He's full of crap. Dealerships don't want to deal with you because it makes them lose money.
Call Toyota corporate and complain about the odor issue, and file a complaint against the dealership too.
