I have found how to disable the dodge factory alarm systems, but do not make videos online. I would like to pass on the information to others that have problems with alarm setting itself and not deactivating. Started with 98 town/country minivan, pulled out gauge cluster and van started. tried to fix connections on cluster, but problem reoccurred. Would not crank. Pulled cluster out again, and used test light and found 1 wire that is hot with key off and out, on connector. I cut the wire, folded over so would not make contact. put back together, and security light came back on until battery in cluster died and light went out. The alarm is now disabled. I just did same thing on 2000 durango last night. For some reason nobody knows this trick, not even dealer techs. I have been working on vehicles since I was 13, now 56, and I am one of those guys that brainstorms unique problems, and how to solve them. I stumbled upon this fix after extensive research on net, with no answers except problem with cluster connections for alarm system. I was hoping that you would be able to pass on this info to those that need it, so they can fix this problem with older dodge vehicles. This problem will leave you stranded, and nothing can be done except for towing vehicle, and replacing BCM, which is almost impossible for some of these vehicles.
Please let me know if you need more info about this issue, thank you, Kurt Caldwell
