2012 Kia Sorento Factory GPS and CD are both inop

2012 Kia Sorento SX purchased new with 135K that runs great. The OE CD player is stuck on the "reading disc" screen.  And the OE GPS unit won't get past the touchscreen "agree" button to accept English.  Most recently the Bluetooth phone connection has also stopped since (I assume) the "agree" button won't function.  Is there a common denominator to all of them?  Is there a factory update/download available?  At the Ford dealership where I worked, we would send the whole unit out to a repair outlet.  I never thought that was a practical option.  Where should I start diagnosis?  Any thoughts?

Call up the dealer and see if they can reset/update the head unit.

That's an LG head unit. That's where HMA/KMA get most of their infotainment stuff. The CD probably has a bad optical pickup or transport. The GPS may be a couple of issues. Their is a separate GPS antenna most of the time located in the dashboard. There is software involved too. GPS software should not involve the CD player so the two are unrelated. My suggestion. Take the radio out and do an Ebay search for the model number. Good chance someone has one for sale. Otherwise you can have a dealer pull the unit and send it out for repair but that will be expensive. That radio predates the era where the infotainment talks on the cam buss so you can drop the replacement right in. The newer ones with CamBuss need to be programmed to match the car or they will brick. Good luck with it.
