2003 Silverado/222,000 miles/4.8L V8. There's a fast paced knocking/clicking noise in the engine along with low oil pressure going to zero. I was told it was maybe time to rebuild the engine. I changed the oil and noticed little metal shavings in the oil filter. After the oil change the noise went away and the pressure was back to normal. Two weeks later it's doing the same thing. Is it time for a rebuild? Is it worth it? Thanks.

I don't know if the truck is worth putting that kind of money into but all signs point to that engine being toast.
